Movie Makers in Movement is a project funded by Erasmus + youth mobility KA 1 2017. Its project number is 2017 2IT03 KA105 011303.
The project’s main objective is the promotion of intercultural dialogue, respect and inclusiveness among young people with different cultural backgrounds.
To achieve this goal, a heterogeneous group of youths will spend 10 days near the beautiful natural reserve of Vendicari in Sicily, designing and filming a video-documentary, with the support of a professional director. Participants are 36 youths with an age range varying from 24 to 28, coming from 6 countries (Croatia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey and UK) and respecting a gender balance principle. Amongst them, there will be an equal number of refugees, first/second generation migrants, and EU nationals. Deadline to receive the final list of participants is the 25th September.
In the video participants will tell a story of their choice. The video will also include backstage footage and will be shared with the wider public as an illustration of the valuable connections and thriving environment that can be achieved once cultural differences and prejudices are set aside.
Participants will develop and improve personal and technical skills and capacities that can increase their employment perspectives, such as communication, language skills in English, a sense of initiative, working in a team, video-making, acting and body expression, use of social networks, and respect for diversity.
Project coordinator is EuGen (IT), Association of social promotion, active from 2015 to develop international projects fostering social and working inclusion and integration of youths, students and vulnerable people. The project will take place in collaboration with the Center for Peace Studies (HR), Jugend- & Kulturprojekt (DE), the town of Burgos (ES), Younclusion (TR) and TERN (UK).
